App Design

Our solution, Epiphany, is a unified super-app that brings transport, delivery, tourism, events, and local shopping into one simple platform. It works by connecting users, vendors, riders, guides, and event organizers through a single interface where people can move, order, explore, and pay without switching apps.

Challenge

Despite Rwanda’s development gains, it still lacks an innovative, reliable, and inclusive delivery infrastructure needed to support everyday living, tourism, arts, and design. Physical, digital, and logistics gaps against a backdrop of 16.8% national unemployment (NISR, 2023), youth unemployment >21%, and 27.4% poverty (EICV7, 2023/24) limit market access and the ability of communities to benefit from creative and tourism sectors.

Objective

The goal was to build a software who's top features include live ride tracking, a smart delivery timeline, curated and custom itineraries, event ticketing, a marketplace with verified sellers, and a wallet that supports mobile money, cards, rewards, and spending insights. The app would be implemented by a dedicated tech and operations team working with local partners like riders, vendors, tourism operators, and payment providers. It benefits everyday commuters, small businesses, tourists, and community creators by giving them easier access to services and opportunities.

Results

Epiphany became a seamless answer to our questions, combining all the strenghts of Rwanda for the world to see. This project landed my team and I the third position out of 150 other startups.
