Challenge

Group decisions are fragmented. Polls are usually easily lost and there is no real record of who decided what or why, and existing tools handle one-off polls but no persistent group context. Slido and Poll Everywhere do the moment; nothing does the ongoing record

Objective

The primary objective was to build one platform covering both ends of that spectrum: structured workspaces with roles, departments, and private sessions for organisations, and an always-public F&F mode for casual group votes with a running history.

Results

Roughly 23 migrations and a dozen tables. Access control enforced at the database layer via Postgres row-level security rather than in application code , so a frontend bug can't leak private data, which was a direct lesson from your hackathon. Instant-runoff tallying with round-by-round elimination for ranked choice. Per-session ballot secrecy. Guest voting with structural double-vote prevention. Realtime results, notifications, two independent surfaces, and a landing page
